
ORIGINS:
Originating from northeast China at the Russian border, over the centuries it spread towards the west through central Asia arriving in Armenia (hence the name) and reaching Europe with the ancient Romans and growing in importance with the Arabs.
THE FRUIT:
Globular drupe of yellow or yellow-orange color with velvety skin; the pulp is yellow and fleshy.
FLAVOR:
Sweet and aromatic varying in intensity with the variety and the degree of ripeness. The fruit contains an average of 48 calories per 100 grams of weight.
